After weeks of wiggles, Josie finally lost her first tooth and thank goodness because I’m not sure I could stand to see that little thing wiggle around much longer. Totally gives me the heeby jeebies–anyone else?

We tried pulling it out several times and it was either too slippery, or just not ready. One evening at bedtime, when the tooth was hanging on by a thread, I told Josie to just push down on it with some pressure and sure enough, it came right out! She was SO excited and luckily I documented it on this video. It was adorable and one of those moments where I was so happy I had my phone handy.
THE TOOTH FAIRY VISIT
I had no idea what the going rate was for the tooth fairy, but after polling some friends I decided on $5 for the first tooth, then we did two $1 bills for the second tooth. I found this super cute idea for glitterizing the money from a little j & k and just knew our fairy had to deliver the same!

My mom had made Josie this tooth fairy pillow probably a year ago in preparation for the big day, so we were excited to finally use it. Though instead of putting it under her pillow we hung it on the closet door. If you don’t have a crafty Nana like we do, check out Etsy. There are so many cute options out there that can be personalized for your little snaggle tooth!

And since the tooth fairy needs a proper entrance, I decided to sneak in and hang this cute little fairy door on the wall. It’s also the perfect size to hold a bill of money and avoids me having to reach under her pillow at night. I hung the tooth fairy pillow on the fairy door and added these adorable certificates, all rolled up and ribboned for her to read the next morning. Ya know, very official tooth fairy business. 😉 I found these free printables on Pinterest–there are so many out there already created, or you can purchase some really, really cute ones on Etsy as well. I think these are especially adorable!
Josie lost her second tooth a couple of nights ago and somehow the tooth fairy went to sleep forgetting to do her job!!!! She came into my room around 2am in tears that the tooth fairy hadn’t come and of course I’m like sh*ttttttt!!!!!! So I told her that maybe she just hadn’t come yet and once she finally fell back asleep it was off to work I went. I’ve wised up though and have the money and certificates ready to roll for the next round of teeth. No more working the night shift for this tooth fairy! haha.
Of course Aaron thinks this is all a bit much–haha, but anytime I can take something pretty basic and make it just a little more special for my kiddos, I jump on it! I mean, how fun is glittery money and a fairy door?! The best!

Anything to see that big ol’ toothless grin!
