My oldest baby officially turned FIVE on May 19th–que the happy tears! After many discussions of what kind of princess party Josie wanted to have (this would’ve made #3!) I finally talked her into having a Supergirl 5th Birthday Party. It was time to change it up and I’m glad we did because it was a lot of fun!
All the kiddos were asked to wear a superhero costume/shirt and they were all so cute. Most of them came off rather quickly because they restricted the bouncing a bit and these kids were ALL about the bouncing. I swear, these inflatable houses are the best thing. This is our second year renting one and it’s worth every penny!
I kept the decor somewhat simple and had ordered a few things from Oriental Trading. They were the only place I found that had a good selection of Superhero “Girl” Party supplies. I was kinda surprised it wasn’t a more popular theme–Party City didn’t even carry anything. What?!
The menu was kept pretty simple as well. This Mama didn’t want to spend a ton of time in the kitchen so easy breezy was my moto this year!
Supergirl Party Menu
Chicken Salad on Croissant
Grilled Hotdogs w/ fixings
Mac ‘n’ Cheese
Spinach Dip w/ Hawaiian Bread
Veggie Platter
Fruit Platter
Chips & Dip
Pretzels & Hummus
Juice Boxes/Water/Beer & Wine (Yes, we are those parents who support drinking at children’s birthday parties!)
Dessert was no different. I ordered cupcakes from a friend who runs a side business and added some brownies. This cool skyscraper tower held all of the cupcakes perfectly and added a bit of fun to the dessert table.
Since Josie only had a Wonder Woman costume, I found these capes and masks on Amazon for Superhero dress-up down the road. Between my kids and cousins and friends kids, I know they’ll get put to good use in the years to come. I clipped them to a banner and made decor out of them–nothing wrong with that!
Probably could’ve used an iron, but whatevs!
The day went fast, but was a lot of fun for my little Supergirl/Wonder Woman! Special thanks to everyone who helped celebrate our precious girl!
