Oh, sweet Summertime!
While the official first day of Summer isn’t for another couple of weeks, these recent temps already have me in the mood to plan some fun activities with the kids. Here’s our Summer Bucket List for 2018!
visit the splash pad
We have the perfect little splash pad in our Old Town area that we plan to frequent this summer.
make homemade ice-cream
On repeat! Oh the flavors we will make. 🙂
go to Massanutten Water Park
This indoor/outdoor water-park is perfect for all ages and I know my kiddos will love it!
check out the LEGO exhibit at the MSV
Something fun and different to do. Josie has recently taken an interest to LEGOs so I think she’ll enjoy it!
swim, swim, swim, as much as we can!
Between the public pool and friends with pools, we are hoping to have lots of pool days! And if not, we’ll set up the baby pool and water table in the back yard. 🙂
go to the beach
Hoping for two beach trips this summer!
trip to NC + lake time
Spending our 4th of July in North Carolina with family.
eat a sno-cone
Since Rita’s Italian Ice has closed in our area will be on the hunt for a refreshing icy treat!
watch fireworks
Or maybe just play with sparklers. 😉 We’ll have to test the limits with the kids, but hoping to see fireworks and have them not be terrified.
visit Dutch Wonderland
This amusement park just for “little kids” will be a great way to spend a day this summer.
eat LOTS of watermelon
It’s not summer without an extra juicy slice of watermelon.
visit the zoo
REALLY hoping to do this on a not so hot day.
visit the wildflower farm to pick flowers
I didn’t even know this place exsisted, but I am so excited for them to open!
pick our own strawberries/cherries
Or any other fruit we can find!
have a picnic at the park
Josie loves to have picnics here, there, and everywhere. So we’ll pack up our blanket and find a shady spot to have lunch one day.
make s’mores
This one is a given. Gotta have s’mores in the summer.
visit the Discovery Museum
For a rainy day or get out of the heat kinda day.
go for story time and dance party at the local library
The library has lots of daytime activities for the kids!
go to the drive in movies
We are lucky to still have a Drive In Theater close by. This was on my list last summer and didn’t happen, but with a new Hotel Transylvania and Incredibles, we’ll have to make it a priority!
blow lots of bubbles
Our bubble machine died, so I’ll be blowing/wanding the old fashioned way! 😉 But we have a big ol’ container of bubble juice and we’re ready to go!
visit the Kids Concert Series at One Loudoun
Fun little day trip to check out this new area.
make ALL the fun summertime memories!
These girls are without a doubt my whole world and I love the little adventures that we share together.
