With a new baby on the way, I knew we’d have to switch the girls’ bedrooms around to make room for a nursery. And while we do have a four bedroom house, one of the spare bedrooms is large. So instead of using all that space for a nursery, I told Aaron we should transform that space into a shared sister bedroom for the big girls, Josie and Isla. He always loves my ideas. Especially ones that require lots of painting, assembling, and moving of heavy furniture. Obviously, Aaron was totally stoked about this. Ha!

We also needed Isla’s crib for baby sister so we needed to figure out a new bed for her. Since we decided on a shared sister bedroom, bunk beds seemed like a super fun idea. Even though I went back and forth about them for weeks, we decided to just go for it. I thought if anything it would be temporary. You know, until the girls get tired of being roommates. Which I’m happy to report has not happened yet. They LOVE being together….and needless to say, it has made bedtime super fun! (laying that sarcasm on thick today, folks!)

So today, I’m sharing the (almost) finished space with you. I say “almost” because I kinda still want to add something on the wall behind their bed, and we still need a sliding door for the closet. Other projects took priority over finishing this space 100% (eh hm…painting them kitchen cabinets!), but honestly it’s good enough for now.
I wanted to keep this space light and bright with pops of color. I’m so happy with how it turned out. I’m clearly not an interior designer. Just wanted a cute + functional space for my girly girls to love.
Links for everything will be at the end of this post.

This little door is for our tooth fairy. You can read all about what we do for her visits here.

I’m also doing a full room tour over on Instagram, saved to my highlights.
