Hey y’all! I’m starting a new series of posts–my “Seven on Sunday”. Seven highlights from my week, with the first one coming in hot below!
One. First up! Starting with last weekend…because it was a busy one! We started with having friends over for a BBQ on Friday night. Then Saturday we hit the road pretty early to head up to PA for my sister-in-laws baby shower.
We stayed the night at their new house and had a great time catching up with them. Sunday we drove from outside of Philly to Frederick, MD where we met up with some other family for lunch at Family Meal. So yummy! We hit the road home around 3:30 pm to make it home just in time for a BBQ at our neighbors house at 5:00 pm. I told ya it was a busy one!! But so nice to visit with family and make some new friends! Ya know, I’m not sure everyone would be up for a full weekend like that, but honestly, you make the time for the people you want to see, no matter how inconvenient it may be. Not every weekend is that crazy (thank goodness) but we truly enjoyed our time with each and every person!
Baby cousins are the best. And I could seriously just eat the both of them up!
Two. Our kitchen renovation started this week. We aren’t doing anything too too crazy; new and larger island, counter-tops and back-splash, and some pretty new pendant lights, but I am so looking forward to an upgraded kitchen! I’ll be working on a post soon with before and after photos. But until then, its safe to say someone is already enjoying the new island cabinetry.
Three. Josie got her ears pierced and did so good! Well, she got scared after the first ear then had to sit on my lap. The tears came for about 30 seconds after the second ear, but once she could see them (and that lollipop) she was a-okay. We also went to the playground and for ice cream after so she quickly got over it all. She looks so grown up now!
Four. My birthday was on the 31st and I had a great couple of days celebrating. I turned THIRTY-FIVE and it sounds so crazy to even say that number out loud! Check out this post if you want to learn 35 random things about me!
To celebrate my birthday, my mom came and met us for lunch, then we went to visit my Grandma in the nursing home. But first we stopped for ice cream to surprise her. It’s her favorite thing to eat and she doesn’t get it that often. Four generations together.
My husband had the following day off so we went out for another birthday lunch followed up with some shopping. Ended the day catching up with friends while our kiddos played like crazy little monkeys and ate more cookies and ice cream and cupcakes than any one child should! But everyone was happy so that’s all that matters.
I love food. That is all.
Five. Josie and I did a little back to school shopping over the weekend and picked up all of her school supplies, along with some new clothes. It was tax free weekend in VA and Old Navy was having some great sales! We have Kindergarten orientation on Friday where we get to meet her teacher and see her classroom. So excited for my big girl!
Six. Friday night was spent getting drenched in the rain to and from the way to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate a friend’s daughter’s birthday. Josie got a whole 45 tickets and chose these vampire teeth which she wore for about 2.5 seconds before saying she didn’t like them and wanted something else. Sorry kiddo! No can do!
Seven. One of my besties has a birthday a few days after mine so we had a little GNO on Saturday to celebrate! Jumbo margs and lots of laughs all around!
Red eyes and sweaty faces on fleek, yo! Love me a girls night, especially with this crew!
