One. Late Sunday morning we headed over to visit my mom and stepdad along with some other family that was in town. After a yummy brunch Josie and I hit the pool for some sunshine and relaxing while Isla took her nap. It was much needed after my girls night out the evening before!
Two. Monday was full of running errands and chores around the house. I did my grocery shopping at Aldi this week and spent less than $100 on SO MANY groceries! I think I’m going to try and make that my weekly goal because our grocery budget has been bananas lately! It makes me so angry that eating healthy is expensive and eating like crap is cheaper! But Aldi has great prices on their produce and even have a large variety of organics.
Three. Kitchen update! The contractors came on Wednesday morning to remove all the old counter-tops, unhook plumbing, gas, etc. All the new counter-tops were installed late on Thursday, with everything back in working order by end of day of Friday. Now I need to purchase new bar stools and pick out paint colors. HOORAY! Pictures coming soon, but here are a few before countertops were in.
Four. Aaron and I officially made it halfway (4 weeks) on the new LIIFT 4 Program by Beachbody. Woop-Woop!! We are feeling good and love the four day a week workouts and mix of weights and HIIT. Now we really just have to get our diet under control. We’ve had way too many cheats lately.
Five. Staying on the workout kick–we signed up for our next 5k on September 9th! I’ve been trying to work in a couple days of running a week in addition to LIIFT 4. I much prefer to run outside and I can never seem go earlier enough to beat the heat. But I’ve been trying to make it happen! I do have a treadmill about 3 feet from my bed, but would much rather hit that pavement!
Six. Friday was as close to the best day ever as it gets! It was kind of our last day of summer as a family before Josie starts school and Aaron switches back to night shift. We took the girls to Jaydees, a local water park and we all had so much fun! It’s perfect for small kiddos, and after much coaxing, we finally got Josie to go down the big slide! I didn’t get a picture, but she was obsessed after and wanted to go down 15 more times.
While Josie was too small, Aaron and I both went down this big red slide, and I got the biggest wedgie of my life! But it was super fun and a little scary!
Kindergarten Orientation was Friday evening where we got to meet Josie’s teacher and see her classroom and new school! We’ve been getting Back to School Ready for a few weeks now, but I really just can’t believe we are days away from having a Kindergartner!
She’s “o-fish-ally” a Kindergarten and Armel Elementary All-Star! (notice the cute little goldfish snack she was given)
After orientation we went for pizza and ice cream per the big girls request. It really was the perfect day.
Watch out world!
Bedtime ready after a big day! This eye mask was what she picked out after getting her ears pierced. She wanted to be just like mom.
Seven. Saturday we drove up to PA to celebrate my hubby and his recent promotion to Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard. The girls and I could not be more proud and honored to stand by his side. We love him so and have endless appreciation for how hard he works for our family.
We were able to get a tour of his plane too! Josie’s face lit up when she saw it. And I just happen to think she is the cutest little pilot I ever did see.
Please send all the good vibes my way this week. Especially on Wednesday when I send my baby girl off to school!
Have a great week everyone!! XO
