Scheeeew….what. a. week.
One. Quarantine Life. Need I say more. We’re all in this same boat together, but dang, this boat is rocking and I’m ready for smooth sailing. I know we all are. But I’ll save my thoughts on this for a different post because I have a lot on my heart about it as a whole. I will say that we are making the best of a weird + crappy situation. I’ve had to limit my news intake lately because it just makes me sad and scared and those are feelings that aren’t welcome right now. But on a positive note, I get to spend all my days and nights with these two and while they are already wearing mama out…I truly am grateful for this time with them.

Two. Spring Days. We’ve been so blessed lately with some beautiful days. Beautiful days that have allowed us to go outside and walk, run, ride our bikes and scooters, grill out, play on the playground, etc. It’s one of the few reasons we can leave our house and I’m so grateful for these nice days.
Three. Take Out, Made In. You guysss….I discovered a bomb recipe over the weekend and wanted to share. Our favorite local Chinese restaurant is currently closed so I took to Pinterest and found this gem. And I made what Aaron called, and I quote “a restuarant quality meal”. Say whaaat? He can be a tough critic sometimes so that meant a lot! However, this took a bit of work and made a mess so I told him to not expect it in our regular dinner rotations, but dang…it was tasty. I also coated some of the chicken in some store-bought orange chicken sauce for the girls….just in case they didn’t like the sesame. I paired the chicken with an easy fried rice and everyone…EVERYONE cleaned their plates. Even the littlest pickiest critic.

Four. Shared Sister Room. With a new addition coming late this summer we decided to do a little switch-a-roo of the bedrooms. Josie and Isla will be moving into our largest spare bedroom, which Daddy decided to paint this weekend. Josie’s old room will become the nursery, and Isla’s room will be our new guest space. I’ll be sharing more about all the rooms, decor, etc. as we move along, but the girls especially are super excited about their new space…and their new BUNK BEDS!

Five. Tick Bites. A little over a week ago we found ticks on both girls. Ugh. Thank the Lord Aaron was home because I would’ve gone into straight-up panic mode! The next morning we noticed a lump on the back of Josie’s head and then a few days later, another lump. Her lymph nodes were swollen from the tick bite drainage so the doctor wanted her to go get checked for Lymes just in case. If she’s going to have it, catching it early is the best-case scenario. A couple of days went by and we got the call that all the tests came back negative, but we should keep her on antibiotics and most likely retest her again in 4-6 weeks. Just to double triple check that all is good. Fair enough. Other than the lumps, she’s been fine. No other symptoms so I’m hopeful that there is, in fact, NO trace of Lymes.
But this is a reminder to check your kids/pets! This totally took me by surprise and these were most likely picked up on a walk we took around our neighborhood. It just seemed early for ticks, but with a mild Winter, it was to be expected. I was also informed by our doctor that we live in a high Lyme area so we’ve been and will continue to check the girls frequently.
Six. Front Yard Hangs. We took advantage of another beautiful day on Friday with sidewalk chalk in the driveway and a front porch picnic.

Seven. Easter Fun. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing any friends or family at any point this week. So again, just making the most of the situation and we’re still going to make the holiday special for our girls. Eggstra special even. 😉 We’ll still be doing all the same activities, dying eggs, having an egg hunt, bunny cinnamon rolls, and festive sugar cookies, and I’ll cook an Easter feast. But it’ll just be the four of us.
I also convinced Aaron that the girls need an outdoor playhouse from the Easter Bunny so that is on the list to assemble and paint this week! I’m probably more excited about that project than they will be. Haha. This is the playhouse I ordered. I’m planning to share the little goodies I picked up for the girls’ Easter Baskets this week!
If you are looking for some Easter dessert ideas…check out this post from a couple of years ago!
Wishing you all a beautiful week! XO
