One. Well, I started the week on hardcore Whole 30, then ended the week eating pasta and drinking wine. When I fall off, I fall hard, folks. Although I’m not eating Whole 30 for every single meal, I will continue to try new recipes and share the ones I approve of. Like this sloppy joe recipe that was seriously delicious and better than any mam-which in a can. And a batch of 3 ingredient cookies {shredded coconut, mashed banana, & vanilla} that weren’t half bad.
Two. We had another winter storm move in earlier this week which left us with about 5 or so inches of snow, and the good snowman making kind of snow! We were finally able to use this snowman kit that was gifted by the girls’ GiGi a few years ago. It was quite impressive!
Three. Before the snow started Nana came by for a quick visit. We danced and sang and played Josie’s favorite, Pie Face! Always lots of laughs with that game, and Nana!
Four. Our local library hosts a ton of free kid events every week and yesterday was all about Penguins. There was story time, dance time, a puppet show, and even an “ice skating rink”. The girls loved it!
Five. Josie had off school Friday and doesn’t go back until Tuesday! I love when she gets to be home with us—two days just isn’t enough sometimes. And little sister loves every second of it. We’ve had lots of playtime and dance parties to Let it Go, which has been on repeat lately!
Six. I’ve been in party planning mode for Isla’s 2nd Birthday and the theme is Frozen! Shocker! 😉 We are keeping it super low-key again this year and only having close family over. I’m also not going crazy with decorations because 1-we are trying to save money, and 2-I’m trying to keep it as stress free as possible. So just doing some simple decor and I’m even making her cake. Cakes definitely aren’t my thing, but I’m going with a box mix that I’m not sure I can screw up. But as long as it doesn’t collapse (see last years disaster here!) we’ll be all good. Can’t wait to celebrate our sweet girl!
Seven. I finally shared our 2018 Year in Review yesterday so in case you missed it, go check it out here. My personal goals haven’t changed much for 2019, and look a lot like last years list.
Today is game day for the Patriots and we’ll see if they’ll make it to the Superbowl again this year! {Fingers crossed!} I’m whipping up a pot of this chili because it is so darn tasty and it is so darn cold outside–and there’s nothing better than a bowl of hot chili on a cold day! Other than a trip to Aldi for some groceries, there isn’t much on our to-do list today. Just how a Sunday should be. Go Pats!! ❤️
