I just got back from my trip to Columbus, Ohio for Montations 2019 and my head has been on a constant state of spin since then–but in the best way possible. Four days full of gratitude, recognition, inspiration, company updates, community, product announcements + fun! So I wanted to do a full My Monations 2019 Recap of all the things why they’re still fresh in this #mombrain of mine!
I’m sure you’re like, “what the heck is Monations?” so I’m gonna break it down for ya now. Monations is an annual convention that Monat hosts for all Market Partners in the company. There were 8k people this year–nearly doubled from 2018! It’s an opportunity to learn, grow, connect with like-minded business leaders, support + encourage successes all while being inspired x100 by all of the amazing people + leadership and gratitude efforts within our company. It. Was. Incredible.
I share this with you today not to brag AT ALL. Trust me, between budget restraints and coordinating childcare, it was hard for me to even make this trip happen. But at the end of the day, I had to look at it as an investment in myself and my business and that was important to me. I also had to remember WHY I started this business in the first place. And I knew I’d have major FOMO if I didn’t go. So I HAD to make it happen!
I also wanted to share this as an encouragement to YOU. Yes, you out there, whoever you are and wherever you might be in life. Whether you are a fellow entrepreneur, a stay at home mom, stuck in a career you hate, or someone simply just dreaming of something more. Taking a chance on something new is the scariest thing ever, but there is also something so freeing about stepping out of your comfort zone and pursuing those dreams or just simply trying something new!
I did that a year ago. And I’ll be the first to say its been a bumpy ride and my head hasn’t always been in the game. But dangit I’m learning to love + embrace this unfamiliar journey a little more every day. And a trip like Monations was exactly what I needed to reignite my fire.
I won’t go into every single little detail from this trip, but I wanted a place to store the memories so when next year rolls around I can look back and see just “how worth it” it was. So here we go….
Recognition
My name was just a little one on the board, but seeing others recognized for their achievements fills my heart with joy and hope that, I too, can get there one day. I get emotional over just about anything these days. Happy or sad. So even though I didn’t personally know the recipients, I was overwhelmed with joy for them!
Gratitude
Gratitude is a HUGE focus in this company. Giving back to communities and supporting those within the company with a vision is a priority for the leadership of Monat. The Urandeta Family are truly generous to their employees + those in need.
Community
Looking for a community of supportive women who uplift, inspire, and support your goals? Well, get yourself a Shampoo Crew like mine. My upline has taken so much time to mentor and show up for her team. She cares about everything–not just the business. And for me, that is an important quality to find. The girls I went on this trip with are all so different in many ways. But even though God brought us together to sell shampoo, it’s become much more than that. True friendships.
Inspiration
This is two a part category for me because I gained so much inspiration from not only the amazing speakers but from fellow Market Partners.
The company did not skimp on the speakers this year. No sir. Tim Tebow brought me to tears and I love how his journey is so much more than just his football/baseball career. Have you heard of “A Night to Shine”? What an amazing way to give back! And then there is John Maxwell who is full of knowledge for network marketing folks + funny! And Kindra Hall and Les Brown were equally amazing. Les specifically leaving an everlasting mark on us all ’cause we need to be “HUNGRYYY”. I’ve never in my life had the opportunity to hear speakers of that caliber speak live. Truly amazing.
And then hearing stories of other MP’s and how they grew + struggles they faced makes it all SO real. It’s sometimes hard to imagine yourself being just as successful, but the truth is, we all start the same. The only thing holding you back is you. Stop holding yourself back!
Company Updates
I’m not a numbers girl….BUT….I do love hearing how the company as a whole is performing. Seeing the success in a company that is just 5 years old gives me incredible job security and validation that this was the right decision for me. And the company announced another Global Expansion into Ireland and Poland!

Product Announcements
Umm, hello Skincare! Say what?! A shock to all but also not surprising that the leader in anti-aging hair care would make the transition to skin. It just makes sense! Also, a new texturizing spray and shampoo+conditioner for thicker + dryer + ethnic hair types. Yes to all please!
FUN!
There was a Gala, 80’s night Closing Party, and a bomb DJ who was energizing the crowd on the daily. We laughed lots and ate + drank well! And just being able to dress up a little, even in business attire, was something I’ve missed!
So there’s my Monations 2019 Recap. In closing, if your company offers a similar conference to Monations….basically just do what you gotta do to get your boo-tay there!! The personal + professional growth that ensues is worth the investment in yourself. Guaranteed.
