Hey friends….Happy 2nd week of April! 😉
Confession…I feel like I haven’t been the best blogger lately and I’m still (STILL!) trying to find my groove in this crazy SAHM world! I’m trying hard to get my sh*t together, but in the meantime wanted to thank each and every one of you who is following along with me–it means the world. XO
March was a fun month with an extra exciting milestone for a special little lady! Check out some of my favorites below.
Easter 2018. Easter was a little different for us this year because Daddy had to work all weekend. 🙁 Luckily he was off the weekend prior and we were able to spend some family time with my sister-in-laws and their families. We had a crazy good brunch at Wilcom’s Inn and then spent the afternoon just hanging out.
We dyed some eggs mid week and quickly made deviled eggs that lasted about 2.5 seconds.
Easter weekend was here before we knew it, and as much as we missed Daddy, that didn’t stop the girls and I from having some Easter fun!
On Saturday, there was an Easter egg hunt downtown that we went to. There were a LOT of kids and probably not enough eggs, but Josie lucked out with ONE egg (literally one egg!) that had a coupon for a free cookie from a local coffee bar. Better than any little piece of chocolate or toy in my opinion…and she loved it too! The weather was super nice that morning as well, so just being able to enjoy that was totally worth it.
We followed the egg-hunt up with a birthday part at the discovery museum for one of Josie’s Pre-K pals. Those girls had a blast playing and dancing the afternoon away! We wrapped up the day dying some Easter eggs at Nana’s house.
On Sunday the girls followed the Easter Bunny’s egg trail to their baskets and spent some time playing with their new stuff while we facetimed with Daddy.
I attempted some bunny ear cinnamon rolls, that looked more like mickey mouse, which Josie immediately informed me of–haha! Oh well, they still tasted yummy and I know to buy the bigger rolls for next time!
That afternoon, we went back over to Nana’s for a yummy dinner and I brought some of my Easter treats for dessert. But the bigger treat for me was getting a half decent picture with my girls in their pretty dresses.
And spending some extra time with my Grandma, who has had a tough year. Josie was showing her the ropes on the Kindle. 😉
Despite missing Daddy, we had an egg-cel-lent Easter! Hope you did too!
Ps…she did have undies on underneath! 😉
Monday Motivation Blog Series. Being fit has always been a struggle for me. I am learning a little more each day how to love myself as I am, while also improving my mindset towards a healthy balance of eating whole foods and exercise. I’m halfway through my 6-week blog series so if you are new here, check out weeks one, two,and three to see what I’ve been up to.
Favorite Target Shoes. Y’all! Target is winning in the shoe game this Spring. So many cute sandals at very affordable prices. You can shop some of my favorites here!
One-On-One with Josie. It’s not often that I get one-on-one time with my oldest, Josie. She’s growing at a rapid pace and starts kindergarten in the Fall so my time with her is dwindling down. I’m finding it can be hard to balance time with my kiddos, but I do think its so important to make time for them individually. Josie and I enjoyed a day together outside with a nice jog, playing at the park, having a tea party, shopping, and getting frozen yogurt. That little girl has no idea how she has changed my life and has become my best little buddy. I cherish all the times we get to spend together, but even more when its just the two of us.
A little too big for the stroller, but a little too slow to keep up with mom’s runs. She’ll get there though!
Snow Day. We finally got a decent snow that the girls could go outside and play in, on the first day of Spring no less. Mother Nature done lost her mind y’all! You can read about our fun in the snow here.
Isla’s First Steps. Ahhh…my sweet baby girl is finally WALKING! She took her sweet time waiting until just shy of 14 months old, 3 months later than her big sis, but I was not rushing it–trust me! Quite wobbly at first, but now she’s got that adorable little waddle down pat and is making her way through ALL of the house.
Big girl status!
Along with walking, she figured out how to take off her own diaper. Fun times! This moment was just too picture perfect and daddy and I laughed for a good 10 minutes over her silly little butt.
Mom’s Night Out. Had an awesome time with a good friend (who happens to also be family) for a Mom’s Night Out. Can’t wait to schedule our next one!
April is already shaping up to be a busy month with lots of exciting things to come. Thanks again for following along!
