Well the day has finally come…my baby girl has turned the BIG 5! Halfway to double digits, and goodness gracious if you know this girl, she is five going on 15. Lord help me!
I could go on and on and on about what makes her unique, but here lately what stands out to me is her confidence and social skills. This girl will talk to anyone and everyone. “Hi, my name is Josie. What’s your name?” And then she proceeds to tell this stranger everyone’s name in our family. People absolutely love her. It’s super cute and I’m somewhat jealous of her bravery and outgoing personality. I was the complete opposite as a child and was so shy. Her ability to make people stop and smile for a minute is truly something special. I can’t wait to see where this big ol’ world takes her!
I wanted to make her birthday a little more special than usual, ya know because turning five is a big deal! We did a few fun things leading up, and still have a few to cross off our list! Daddy was working his last night shift the morning of her birthday and stopped by Duck Donuts for a yummy birthday breakfast surprise. We sat on the floor picnic style and ate our donuts as Josie opened her presents from Mom and Dad.
Later that afternoon, Mommy and Josie went to get a mani/pedi then went to the mall for some shopping and playtime on the indoor play area. It was POURING RAIN that day and had been all week so we didn’t have many options. Josie enjoyed every minute of her pampering and playtime. She even made a few new pals on the playground!
Afterwards, we headed home to meet Grampy and Grandma Carol as they were driving up from North Carolina for the weekend. We went out to eat at the Paladin to celebrate the birthday girl then went home to rest up for the big celebration the next day! We had been praying that the rain would hold off for her party on Saturday and luckily it did! You can check out all the Supergirl Birthday Party details here.
We wrapped up the weekend with another birthday party, and it’s safe to say we were all 100% exhausted by Sunday evening!
Josie is so excited to be FIVE and she holds up all five of those little fingers proudly! Now Mom on the other hand…Mom is still processing this milestone, but is equally so excited to spend another 5 years+++++ with this sweet girl.
Happy Birthday Josephine Lynn!
