In honor of Isla’s 15 Month milestone, here’s what’s been going on with our big girl lately!
15 months old and this girl is on the move! Never wanting to sit in one spot longer than a few seconds.
Still a little wobbly when she gets to walking fast and has had a lot of bumps and bruises over the past couple of months to show it.
Loves the stairs and gets a devilish little grin every time she’s spotted trying to climb up them. Her little pitter-patter followed by a long pause will give it away every time. She KNOWS mom is going to come swoop her up and away. And it’s her favorite little game.
Books are also her favorite and she’ll just sit by herself and turn each page like she’s actually reading the words. Cuteness times a million!
She thinks it’s hilarious to take her own diaper off and will try multiple times during each diaper change along with rolling in every direction possible instead of staying still! Mom definitely counts a diaper change as a workout!
Watches her sisters every move and follows her around the house.
Gives hugs to other little people she meets (i.e. another little girl at swim lessons).
Holds her baby doll and pats her on the back like a good little mama. Then proceeds to hang her by her feet, drop her on her head, then roll over her in the stroller like a bad little mama.
She’s curious and wants to look out all of the windows and pull every single item out of the cabinets–including every q-tip out of the box. Which pretty much happens every time mom takes a shower. We do whatever it takes, right mama’s?!
Can fake cry like a champ. She’s a girl who knows what she wants and knows how to get it!
Loves bath time and literally soaks mom and dad every night. Also tries to stand in the tub way too much and scares mom half to death.
Starting to talk more and can say (or at least kinda sorta say) the following: mama, da or dada, some form of Josie, Riley and Nana, baby, uh-oh, duck, up, peeeese, and no. The last one being my least favorite. Especially since she knows exactly what “no” means and doesn’t listen to “no”.
Her hair is the exact same length and texture of her sisters at that age so I think we’ll have another curly girl in the house! I should probably start stocking up on the detangling sprays and conditioner now!
Her little giggle is the most precious sound in the whole world and is most often heard when mom gives her tickles or when big sis is being her typically silly self and cracking us all up.
Speaking of big sis, I’ve caught a few moments of these two cuddling and playing together and it is the most precious sight I’ve ever seen. I hope they stay close forever.
Thumb-suckers unite!
Favorite foods are scrambled eggs, yogurt, blueberries, peas, bananas, applesauce, cheese, chicken, mashed potatoes, any pasta.
Not a fan of cold whole milk and only gets one bottle at bedtime warmed up. The rest of the day its straight H2O.
She loves music and shakes her little booty during our daily family dance parties.
Has recently started watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and seems to really enjoy it. I’m excited to see her face when she meets the mouse in person when we go to Disney in June!
Likes to go for stroller rides around the neighborhood with mom while big sis rides her bike.
Has 12 teeth (working on 3 more currently!) and likes to use (aka-bite on) the toothbrush.
Totally LIGHTS UP when she sees her Daddy. When he calls on the phone through Facetime she’ll steal the phone from mom and just walk around holding/talking to dad.
At her recent check up she weighed 22.1 lbs and is 31″ tall. In the 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height. A whole inch shorter and 3 lbs lighter than her big sis at that same age!
We have a super fun summer planned and I can’t wait to experience all the new adventures with Isla. The beach, boat ride on the lake at Grampy’s, plane ride, pool days, etc. All of which Isla also did last year, but was just too little to really enjoy. She’ll be keeping us on our toes for sure this summer!
