It was a busy, yet BEAUTIFUL weekend over here, and the girls and I ventured out on Sunday to a couple of local farm market/pumpkin patches to soak up some of that sunshine! Truth is, with all the rain lately (or for forever as it seems!) we haven’t been outside nearly enough and it’s been totally bumming me out! And with a slight drop in temperature, it’s really starting to feel more like Fall in Virginia and it was a truly perfect day for it.
We went to a new (to-us) spot, Hill High Farm, and really liked it! Definitely not as busy as our go-to, but it was a nice change of pace. They had a petting zoo, which my girls LOVE, small play area, food, corn maze, and a mini train ride around the farm. I was solo with both kids so the corn maze was out, but we most enjoyed the animals! We’ll be back for sure. Oh, and they also have a haunted house if you kids are old enough to partake in that!
Next stop was our usual, Marker Miller Orchards. They have the best activities for kids! An awesome play area, cow train, hay rides, pick your own pumpkins, apples etc., and the best Apple Cider donuts you ever did eat. It’s a favorite for us. And since Mom was in such a great mood–we had donuts AND ice cream. Umm, hello bestest mom ever! 😉
The massive amount of chocolate on Josie’s face cracks me up. Girlfriend has a straight up chocolate ice-cream goatee. And Isla tripped on every other pumpkin vine…fyi, pumpkin patches are not toddler friendly, haha.
While we left with no pumpkins (yeah, mom didn’t really consider how she would cart around multiple pumpkins and two kids all by herself) we had a super fun day and plan to go back again with Daddy on Monday or Tuesday! I have to get my front porch decorated this week, folks. HAVE TO!
If you are local to Winchester, VA you should check these spots out!
