One of my most favorite drinks in the Fall is a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Call me basic, I don’t care. It’s so yummy and just gets me in the Fall spirit! I do find that most people either love em’ or hate em’ so no hard feelings there, friends.

However, something I don’t like is paying a lot of money for is coffee drinks. Yes, I’ll treat myself at Target on occasion or swing by the Starbucks drive-thru sometimes, but it’s not a daily or a weekly thing. We buy our big ol’ bag of coffee beans at Costco, usually the Mayorga brand, and grind them ourselves. We’ve also invested in a good coffee pot that does ALL the things so there really is no need to buy coffee out unless we are on the go or just want a treat or just lazy. Ha, guilty.
I’ve never tried a DIY pumpkin spice latte so when I saw that my local Homegoods was carrying the pumpkin spice flavored coffee syrup I had to snag it up. I put together my own little version of a PSL and I have to say, it’s pretty good!

I used almond/coconut milk which doesn’t froth nearly as good as regular milk, but still gives the creaminess of a latte. Though feel free to modify however your little heart desires. Homegoods had a ton of other seasonal and regular syrup flavors, so you could get all sorts of creative! BYOB, yo. Be your own barista, ya heard?
Speaking of, I wrote a post last year all about creating your own coffee bar at home. Most of y’all have seen mine and know its my favorite spot in the house. We love on that thing like a third child.
Now, on to the recipe!
DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients:
1 cup of milk (I used almond/coconut, but you can use whole, oat, etc.)
2 tbsp of pumpkin spice coffee syrup
1/2 cup brewed Espresso (our ninja coffee bar makes specialty drinks and brews the espresso using our own coffee beans)
Tools- milk frother
Optional topping- pumpkin pie spice + whipped cream
Directions:
- Brew espresso.
- While brewing, microwave milk for 1 minute or until hot.
- Add coffee syrup to either the espresso or milk. I’ve done both. Not sure it matters, but I’m no professional here, folks.
- Froth milk until frothy. I’m very technical, you see.
- Pour milk into espresso. Top with whipped cream + a dash of pumpkin pie spice.
- Enjoy that PSL and all the money you’re saving! 🙂

Cheers! Be sure to tag me on Facebook and Instagram if you try this.
