Yesterday I needed some baking therapy in my life. Yes, baking is therapeutic for me. Not painting or cleaning. Baking. Digging my head into a recipe, pulling out all the ingredients + my mixer and baking something yummy. I don’t do it as often as I’d like, but a rainy Sunday seemed like a perfect opportunity to make some “bootiful” Halloween cookies.

Cookies are typically my go-to because they are pretty foolproof. They are also easily shared + eaten by little hands. I don’t discriminate either. All cookies are welcome in this house!
I’m also a sucker for pretty things. So naturally, when I stumbled across Jenny Cookies on Instagram a few years ago I immediately fell in love with her adorable cookie designs. And then she came out with a cookbook with her exact recipes and steps to make my own super cute cookies?! Say what?? I was all over it!
Anywho…..
As I was scrolling insta the other day, I saw that she recently posted the ca-uuuutest Halloween cookies. So it was off to Target I went to find the Wilton cookie cutters. This was my second time trying out her tried and true sugar cookies + buttercream frosting and trust me, they do not disappoint. My first attempt was for Easter and I do think they were still pretty cute.

Now here is my disclaimer, I am no professional. And I am certainly no Jenny Cookies. While I feel I have mastered the actual cookie, I still have some work to do in the decorating department. But hey, practice makes perfect. And I’m far from perfect over here, but they still turned out pretty cute, right?! Right…..

Now you might be thinking, what am I going to do with all these bootiful Halloween cookies?
Well, I’m certainly not eating them all! I’ll keep a few for my girls and the rest will be going to a lucky neighbor who is next to be “Booed!” Have you guys heard of this? I had, but this is our first time being booed. Basically you anonymously leave treats on your neighbors’ porch just to send spread some fun Halloween cheer. It’s a neat idea and we are excited to partake in the fun!
