As promised, I plan to document this pregnancy (well, at least the last 2 trimesters at this point). Here is my 14-week update.
How far along? 14 weeks
Baby is the size of a: Beet
Total weight gain/loss: 3lbs

Maternity clothes: Some! I’ve basically been living in all the comfy clothes including my loosest fitting leggings. I just ordered this pair on Amazon and love them! But I made a trip to Target last week to get a few new things including a new pair of maternity jeans + a few dresses. I can still wear my normal jeans with a belly band, but I’m very close to just embracing the maternity pants life 100%. Luckily I have a lot of loose-fitting tops that easily work to cover my growing bump right now.
Sleep: I’m getting it, but I’m already up at least 2-3 a night to pee and I toss and turn a lot to get comfortable. So it’s not the most restful sleep. But I’ve used this pregnancy pillow throughout all three babies and while I used to love it, I’m thinking it’s gotten kinda worn down over the years. I might have to invest in a new one soon, but we’ll see. I usually get about 7-8 hrs a night, plus a power nap in the afternoon, so good enough! And more than I got with my other two pregnancies, working full time.
Best moment this week: We had our 1st-trimester ultrasound to check for any of the trisomies + downs syndrome, and while the bloodwork hasn’t come back yet, the ultrasound + measurements all looked great. I also got some new (wayyy better) pics of my little babe which makes me so happy.
Have you told family and friends? Yes! We had gradually been telling friends and family over the past month or so, but made the announcement on FB + IG about a week ago. I tell ya, keeping that secret through your first trimester is not an easy feat and feels like fooooreverrrr. We surprised close family at Isla’s birthday party when she opened a present and out popped a balloon with the announcement. Everyone was surprised! It was a sweet moment!

Are you finding out the gender? The question everyone wants to know! Haha. YES. 100%. I’ve never wanted to “be surprised” at delivery. Just surprise me now so I can plan. Mmkay. Check out our reveal here!
Movement: Baby is moving a ton, but nothing that I can feel yet.
Food cravings: Oh boy. Let’s just say anything that’s easy and that I don’t have to cook. Aaron laughs because I’ve nick-named February “Fast-Food February” because we ate out soooo much. SO MUCH. And it’s 90% my fault. Like we literally spent our restaurant budget x6. Ugh, it makes me angry now thinking of all that money we spent/wasted, BUT I’m just chalking it up to sickness (flu hit our house early in the month!) + 1st-trimester nausea + exhaustion. I just had zero desire to cook and some food smells I just couldn’t tolerate. So we well patronized our local businesses throughout in the month of February–it is what it is. But we’ll be taking a chill on that in March, you best believe!
Anything making you queasy or sick? At 14 weeks, just certain smells. Honestly, none that I can pinpoint, they come and go. But on occasion raw meats have turned my stomach. I felt sick to my stomach consistently earlier on, but that has passed.
Have you started to show yet: Yes, I have a little bump. But since I’ve always had a little extra cushion in my belly, it’s always been hard to tell until I’m further along. I’ve never been one of those girls who has a cutesy little bump and that’s it. I’m a curvy girl and I gotta couple bumps on top of my bump if ya know what I’m sayin’. Ha!

Mood: Pregnancy hormones are still somewhat raging and it doesn’t take much for me to cry, literally over a tv commercial or something so dumb. I also get a weekly cry in from watching This Is Us…every dang week. But overall my mood is good! I’m happy. I’m excited. And I’m constantly thinking of 100 things and what we need to do over the next 6-7 months before this baby arrives.
What are you most looking forward to this week? At 14 weeks pregnant, I’m screaming……Hello, 2nd Trimester! It’s always been my favorite time of pregnancy and when I’m feeling the best. We have some fun things planned over the next couple of months including a trip to the beach so lots to look forward to! I’ll also need to get in as much as possible during this time because I’m a little nervous about my 3rd Trimester in the dead of Summer. (hashtag, hot as hell + poor planning).
I have a baby checkup next week so another update will be coming soon!
